Our Mission

Transition Living Centers provide safe, supportive, and structured housing for men seeking long- term recovery from addiction. Our mission is to support, encourage and hold our residents accountable for taking an active role in their recovery as they learn to create lives of responsibility and purpose.

Our Philosophy

Transition Living Centers, (TLC) is dedicated to creating and maintaining an atmosphere that supports and encourages our residents in their pursuit of a recovery lifestyle.   TLC provides the groundwork for an individual to become totally immersed in an evidenced-based practice proven to help those pursuing long-term recovery, one step at a time.  Our residents commit to abstinence and participate fully in their individual recovery plan reinforced by the 12-step pathway and their individual spiritual pursuits.

The support programs engage our residents with others in the larger recovery community where they gain first-hand exposure to clear reminders of what it was like …  what it can be as they transition to a new way of living, as well as, what can happen without a clear,  defined plan and accountability to help them stay on track towards the achievement of their specific goals.  As our residents achieve their goals and develop their resilience, their capacity for sustaining this new lifestyle can flourish.

our founder

Steven Williams is an industry veteran having worked in the behavioral health space in South Florida for nearly two decades.  He is a Certified Recovery Residence Administrator (CRRA), a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) and a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS-A) by the State of Florida.

After a successful career in corporate America, he followed his calling to serve those in need by volunteering in shelters and assisting those challenged by homelessness. Many of these individuals were dealing with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder issues. Working as a case manager, Steven developed a wealth of knowledge and relationships with key service providers in Miami-Dade County which helped facilitate the allocation of resources to this vulnerable population. Steven’s passion to work with this segment of our community also afforded him an opportunity to work with the 11th Judicial Circuit Drug Court and the Mental Health Administrators Office in the court system.

Given the breath of Steven’s personal and professional experience, it became apparent that there was an increased need for supportive and structured sober transitional housing for men seeking recovery from addiction. Determined to build on his experiences and commitment to give back, Steven and his team founded Transition Living Centers, (TLC) Recovery Residences as a bridge to long-term recovery.
